For the first 2 years of my career, I worked with the Miami-Dade County Public Defender’s office, where my clients were often under-informed of their rights or so confused by the legal system that they made critical errors in their own defenses. As an Assistant Public Defender, I found that open, honest relationships with my clients based on mutual understanding consistently yielded favorable outcomes.
